Bud Summers
Bud Summers
After being soundly beaten in his attempts at piano and violin he found his true instrument in a second hand guitar. Raised in a musical family- Bud Summers’ dad was a jazz bassist and his mom a public school music teacher. Exposed to jazz, classical, opera and show tunes, he favored blues and rock.

He dropped out of college during his senior year to record and tour the midwest with “Shotdown”. He eventually returned to the St Louis area and completed his B.A. at SIU-Edwardsville focusing on classical guitar and playing in the college jazz band while earning a living playing with various local cover bands.

In 2006 Bud struck out on his own as a solo artist writing, recording, and performing throughout the midwest. His music lends a bluesy/jazzy sound to his singer/songwriter approach. He’s toured and received airplay up and down the Mississippi Valley from Chicago to New Orleans while releasing seven independent CDs.

Bud has been a member of the music faculty at Lewis & Clark College, Principia College, and Greenville College and he’s been a guest instrumentalist on over a dozen albums for fellow artists.
